“No one is finally dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away – until the clock he wound winds down, until the wine she made has finished its ferment, until the crop they planted is harvested. The span of someone’s life…is only the core of their actual existence.”
— Sir Terry Pratchett, Reaper Man
“DON’T THINK OF IT AS DYING, said Death. JUST THINK OF IT AS LEAVING EARLY TO AVOID THE RUSH.”
— Sir Terry Pratchett, Good Omens
NOTE:
I was reminded of Sir Terry Pratchett’s character of DEATH this morning by a wonderful friend on Facebook who also lamented Terry Pratchett’s late passing. No particular reason for this post, not feeling morbid, just thankful for a wonderful character and portrayal of Death as a concept.
