Interviewing last week, I was told a great line that I need to remember: “Some people have 20 years of experience, other people have 1 year of experience 20 times over.”
We were talking about personal and professional growth, and how some people are content to repeat themselves whereas others are genuinely interested in becoming old-and-wise sages.
During the same conversation, it was said “We (the IT industry as a whole) use the title Senior like we use the title Adult. Can you do your job? Can you be depended upon to meet the commitments you make? Congrats, you’re a Senior.”
While I continue to interview and wait for what I hope is good news from one or more that I’ve interviewed with, I’ve been keeping myself busy in our home office.ย My firewall management, VLANs, virtual servers under VMware ESXi, and our new 3D printer all continue to improve…
You are moving forward, that is the main thing! Keep up the good fight.
Thanks, Aunt Jane.
I’m trying to give myself a sense of busyness and purpose… it’s hard not to feel anxious or depressed at times between the news, social unrest, my own unemployment, and frustration with my health. I really do hope and pray for better news soon.
