Dearest Victoria,
Twenty years ago, when this all began, did you ever imagine how this story would play out?
A year after we got married, just 5 days before our first anniversary, the World Trade Center fell. It was hard to celebrate our first anniversary and to escape to a Bed & Breakfast when all the world had changed.
We’ve been through so much together in the years since. So many details, many of them personal to us, that I won’t go into them on Facebook. We both know our greatest joys and our most painful sorrows. You were there for me throughout, and I was there for you in yours.
Nearly twenty years later, we have two loving Shelties in Kiyomi and Toshirō. We continue to beat the odds with my Mantle Cell Lymphoma despite the grim numbers and conversations with NIH last November. We continue to overcome and endure. We are family.
So Coronavirus is just one more thing. Just one more notch on a long staff measuring our lives together. We’ll look back on this as we do everything else, knowing we overcame it together.
I believe in you. I believe in us. I believe in our little family together.
